The City of Harrisburg welcomes the annual Gay Pride parade, Dr. Brenda Alton, Acting Director of Parks, Recreation and Enrichment said today. “We have a permit prepared which can be picked up anytime,†Dr. Alton said today.
“When the Mayor and I met with a representative from the LGBT coalition last March, we assured them that the City would support a family friendly Gay Pride parade and celebration and that a permit would be issued.†She added. “Contrary to some reports, the group has never been denied a permit, nor has that permit been singled out in any way from any other permit. We hope this multi-cultural event can be brought to the City as it has in the past.â€
Dr. Alton has taken charge of the permitting process for the Department this week and all permits are being expedited at this time
