According to a well known Chicago news paper, Santita Jackson was fired from her radio job at Chicago WVON-AM (1690).

The eldest daughter of the Rev. Jesse L. Jackson became a full-time talk-show host after producing TV and radio shows for her father. The move came about due to “cost-saving measures” at the station. “I have encouraged her to pursue a national platform, which she desires and so deserves,” said Melody Spann Cooper, chairman of Midway Broadcasting and general manager of WVON. “It is my hope that she will rejoin us in a more visible capacity.”
