Rep. Bobby Rush of Illinois does not shy away from any activism. Rep. Rush has shown a history of making attempts to help the community that he represents. Currently, he has his focus on youth violence in the public school system. A memo was released from his office today and it had the following information in it.

On Monday, November 2nd Congressman Bobby Rush (IL-01) will unveil federal legislation requiring the U.S. Department of Education to provide funding and a model for conflict resolution and mediation programs to be offered in public schools as way to decrease student violence. He will make the announcement at 10 AM at the Gary Comer College Prep, 7200 S. Ingleside and will be joined by an array of educators, community leaders, students, youth advocates, mental health experts and others, during the news event.

As you know , Chicago,IL school systems has seen large amounts of un heard of violence in their school system. Although Chicago has a large educational system, the public school systems across the United States violence track record currently holds little merit.

This attempt by Rep. Rush should help all regardless of economic or environmental background.
