The DMV awards is a local event in the DC, MD ,VA region of the east cost. The event has been promoted in the passed by DRE all day and Brother Maniac. The event is set up to allow local independent artist show case their talent and network with one another
At the 2011 year of the DMV awards, allegedly people that attend the event got into fights and the event was shut down. Some say this fighting set the DMV movement back and others say it will have no affect at all.
