Yes, you heard it . The word that makes some people upset. "Privatizing " by definition means the incidence or process of transferring ownership of a business, enterprise, agency, public service or property from the public sector (the state or government) to the private sector (businesses that operate for a private profit) or to private non-profit organizations. The term is also used in a quite different sense, to mean government out-sourcing of services to private firms.

If you are not familiar with before and after care, this is the process which many parents use for child care. In most cases, it is associated with a child of elementary school age being monitored, given educational guidance and activities. This monitoring happens before school starts and after schools ends. This service is needed in the community today at an affordable cost. Most public school systems provided this service on a lottery or first come first serve basis and at a cost lowered then most private entities.

The advantage of having before and after care at a public school or any school is the child does not have to travel to the care provider. In most cases , the child just leaves class and is escorted to the part of the school that houses the before and after care program.

Well, the PGCPS(Prince Georges County School Board) may start using private entities to handle before and after care in the 2013 year and beyond. Although this information is not confirmed, people are walking around the public school system asking alot questions about the budget and the future of the public school run before and after system.

This story is still developing.
