With the new means of communication such as text, email and others, people want to take full advantage of making connections. The story below is a guide to help you with the new tools of communication
I was at the bar area of Houlihans one night with my friend Derrick. The two of us were just talking and the last thing on my mind was picking up chicks. I remember, I had on an old pair of sweat pants. And figured this immediately disqualified the both of us anyway...
But as it always seems to happen, the night took an unexpected turn. A very pretty blonde walks up to me and Ed and she points to her friend and tells me that her friend wants to know if I'm single... the friend was cute. So I nodded yes.
And needless to say, me, Ed, and my worn out pair of sweat pants had a fun night with a couple of blondes. But the story has a bad ending!!
My blonde, a nurse named Kristin, vanished into thin air.... After that night I never saw her again. And trust me, I tried. The next day I sent her a text "What u up to?"
I got back the dreaded "who's this?" I then awkwardly had to remind her who I was. And we proceeded to have an awkward series of back and forth texts... until I got the even more dreaded no response.
Over the course of the week I sent another series of text messages that got increasingly desperate. Until finally realizing that just as quickly as Christine came into my life... she was gone.
What did I do so wrong?
I BLEW the absolute critical moment after the first encounter.... Every ounce of rapport that I had built up during the night we met... was lost in one single text "who's this?"
Trust me, any time you get a "who's this?" message.... its all bad news from there. As a woman is thumbing the message into her phone she's already made up her mind she's not going to see you again.
There's probably an unconscious thought process going on in her mind saying "if I have to establish who this is he must not be that important to me."
So your number one goal is to NEVER give a woman a chance to write "who's this?" (And preferably WITHOUT announcing who you are in the first mesage...)
Now, my all time best way to avoid it is to get my number in her phone so my name pops up when she gets the text instead of some random number.... Something even more cheaky (for those of you with smart phones) is to get a picture of you (or something that will remind her of you) in HER phone...
Here's how you do it...
As you and her are talking and having a pleasant time... Find something to take a picture of, Could be a weirdo in the bar you both are laughing at... could just be a funny face you're making...
But try to weave it easily into the conversation... After taking the picture, text it to her... (if you don't have her number yet, here's a good excuse to ask)
Here's the gold in this...
Now, the next time you message her she's going to see that picture in the string of text messages... (not only reminding her who you are.. but also reminding her of how much fun you had had together) And completely by passing the ice cold "who's this?" text.
Have a crack next time you get a girl's number.
You Can Make it happen!
